Ann Waiguru engaged to the man of her dream, Lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo

Kirinyaga County Governor Ann Waiguru as finally revealed her better half, for the part of her life majority have been speculating who might be.

Details have emerged of her engagement to lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo who had proposed to her a few weeks ago at the lavish Lord Erroll Hotel in Runda, Nairobi.

While Speaking to our editors on the news of engagement, Waiguru revealed,

"I was completely surprised. We had not been talking about formalising our relationship so I did not expect it. We had just come from holidays and were celebrating his birthday as we do with close friends every year."

According to details of those attended the ceremony, a traditional Kikuyu ceremony followed on February 16 - two days after Valentine's - in Kiamungo, Kirinyaga county with family and invited guests present.

"It was a beautiful ceremony. The time was right for us to take our relationship to the next level," Kamotho was heard saying.


Kikuyu tradition customs says you pay dowry to enable Locked gate to be opened as well as identifying your own among women who had covered themselves, of which Kamotho had done.

The County Boss and the Lawyer have not yet set the date for a formal wedding.

Kamotho disclose that he met Waiguru ten years ago during a retreat in Mombasa when he used to serve as a Commission for Implementation of the Constitution (CIC).

Kamotho further give details of the meeting, saying Waiguru had been sent to advise the team on public finance chapter while he was a team leader of the commission.

Kamotho revealed that after the meeting he requested her out on a date and she accepted.

"She was on the phone the whole time. I had to ask her why she was not paying attention to our date," Kamotho added.

Waiguru give details on how that moment her work life and personal life were inseparable.

"We later agreed that when we are together and with family, phones are kept aside unless it is completely necessary. I am not doing badly nowadays," she told our editor.
