Breaking News: Kenya records first coronavirus death

Health Cabinet Secretary  Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed Kenya's first  falatilty from coronavirus .

According to the CS in a statement sent to newsroom, "We have received the sad news of the death of a patient who had tested positive for coronavirus."

According to the statement the man is  66 year old and had been airlifted from Kwale to Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairiobi where he was placed under the Intensive Care Unit.

 The statement says he had arrived in Kenya on March 13 from South Africa via Swaziland.

 He also revealed that the patient had been suffering from diabetes.

The statement comes hours after Kenya confirmed three new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 31.
