Away from Nairobi: Ruto takes a back seat and retreats to his farm in Sugoi

Deputy President William Ruto was once again on the  spotlight, as he took time off to attend to his  farm.

In a photo shared widely  online Dr.Ruto was seen attending to his Kitchen Garden at his Sugoi Home, Uasin Gishu County.

This time round Ruto was not in an official suit but wore a pair of white short and gumboots while  tilling his garden .

However, questions of Deputy President William Ruto's whereabouts have been surfacing online, with members of the public questioning his absence at a time the country is facing a potentially devastating global health crisis.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been issuing press statements and holding  teleconferencing alone or either with Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe and Finance CS Ukur Yatani among other senior government officials.

All these emanating from arguments that matters of national importance were being communicated to the public in his absence, and allegedly, without his knowledge.

Ruto has been missing out on  various matters on national importance which includes the National Security Council (NSC) meeting that was chaired by President Kenyatta, briefing of the National Emergency Response Committee on Coronavirus and when President Kenyatta addressed the nation on various iItervention to cushion Kenyans against the economic effect of COVID-19 pandemic on 25  March.

Recently Ruto was also  missing out in another crucial meeting when the head of state convened the first meeting of a taskforce formed to marshal funds for Coronavirus response.

Ruto was last month seen at State House, during the national prayers against Coronavirus pandemic hosted by President Kenyatta.
