Breaking News; 10 Ministers in South Sudan test positive for Coronavirus

10 of South Sudan Cabinet Ministers tested positive for coronavirus, the Minister of Information Michael Makuei has told BBC.

The ministers are said to have come into contact with a former member of the high-level task force of COVID-19.

The country's minister of health is the only former member of the team who hasn't contracted the disease.

The South Sudan government said the ministers are in good health after they placed themselves under self-quarantine.

The Information Minister further dismissed claims that President Salva Kiir who was also a member of the task force had been diagnosed with the virus.

First Vice President Riek Machar, his spouse Angelina Teny, some of his staff and bodyguards tested positive for the virus on May 13.

South Sudan has so far confirmed  481 coronavirus cases.
