Ex- Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno hospitalised after contracting COVID-19

Former Harambee Stars captain and defender Musa Otieno has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19

Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwenda was among the first person to wish the captain quick recovery

" Get better captain... We pray for you..., " he tweeted.

According to media reports, Musa Otieno is hospitalised in Mbagathi Hospital.


Otieno has been spearheading a charity programme dubbed ' Kick Off To Hope'  that has supported  over 600 families in Nairobi's slums.


" He's been risking it all to ensure families in Nairobi's slums have food on their tables during this tough time. And now Musa Otieno has tested positive for COVID-19. Pray for his healing and that of all COVID-19 patients, " Radio Africa sports journalist Carol Radull tweeted.

During his stint at Star's Otieno made over 100 appearances.

He was also part of Harambee Stars squad that participated in 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia.


Prior to him venturing into coaching, He featured for Tusker FC and AFC Leopards before joining South Africa's Santos in 1997.
