10 more patients dead as Kenya's COVID-19 tally hit 36,301

Ten more patients have succumbed to COVID-19 pushing the number of fatalities recorded in the country to 634.


In a press briefing on Tuesday, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi also announced that 96 people had tested positive for the disease from a sample size of 3,270 tested in the last 24 hours raising the country's total caseload to 36,301.


92 of the new cases were Kenyans while 4 were foreigners. In terms of gender 70 are males 26 females aged between 5 years and 81 years old.


At the same time, 121 people recovered from the disease; 97 are from the Home-based care program and 24 were discharged from various health facilities. This now brings the total number of recoveries to 23,364.


The cases are distributed as follows; Nairobi 26, Kisii 10, Busia 8, Mombasa 7, Uasin Gishu 7, Kisumu 7, Machakos 6, Kericho 5, Kilifi 4, Samburu 2, Nakuru 2, Kajiado 2, Kiambu 2, Bomet, Meru, Narok Makueni and Taita Taveta have one case each.
