22 Ethiopians to be repatriated

KNA     Kiambu Chief Magistrate Patriciah Gichohi has ordered repatriation of 22 Ethiopians found to be in the country illegally.

            The foreigners had earlier been rescued from a house in Mwihoko area of Ruiru Sub-county in Kiambu County on 6th October 2020 following a tip off to the police.

           According to the prosecution, Peter Mugi Kamau, Jamal Ahmed Sheikh, and Mahdi Alio Mamo had trafficked the 22 into Kenya contrary to the law.

            The first accused separately faced a second count of being in possession of ammunition without a firearm certificate.

            The 22 are Joseph Esfanos, Lagasa Hailu,Fikaddu Habara, Bram Kayash,Damaka Mukomen, Piniel Adisse Alberto, Elias Walde, Dana Bushura, Daraja Samuiye, Akilulu Kadir, and Shifara Abara.

            Others are Zerihon Baleta, Guye Dagati, Abdi Bamud, Fatah Fayesa, Masebo Osabo,Tashara Girama, Abriham Abo, Abriham Tadasa, Temri Mshomn, Mukonen Daniel and Abriham Ababa.

            Ms. Gichohi had earlier allowed the detention of the foreigners for seven days that elapsed on Thursday through a miscellaneous application in which police sought more time to allow them complete investigations into the human trafficking case.
